We are striving to provide programs that will help new and long-time members become better acquainted with the history of the UU moment. We also offer programs for spiritual enrichment and community building.

MUSIC
Choir Participation Members of the choir meet Thursday evenings at 7:15 and at 9:15 every Sunday morning. Interested singers may contact Jonathan English: jon@jonathanenglish.com

Saturday Evening Concert Series
February 2 at 7:30: The Syracuse Opera will present an evening of music from the twenties. Choral and solo pieces will be included. April 26th at 7:30: The Boccaccio Trio, including Fred Karpoff, piano, Jeremy Mastrangelo, violin and David Ledoux, cello will perform music from Schubert and Brahms.

UU SEEKERS
UU Seekers are a diverse group of individuals who join together for the mutual exploration of spiritual ideas within our First UU community. This happens through research, contemplation, conversation and sharing. Meetings are held bi-monthly at noon on Sundays. Contact: Richard Levy

BOOK STUDY
The first study book will be THE GOD DELUSION by Richard Dawkins along with US News & World Report's Special issue on "Sacred Places" (Nov.26-Dec.3). The first meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 7:00 PM. The group will determine future meeting times. Contact: Susan King

INTERPERSONAL STYLE WORKSHOP
This interactive workshop will be offered Saturday, April 5th by Joanne Rice. Joanne is a retired human resources relations administrator and consultant. Consult the March Newsletters for information about this unique opportunity. Printed material and lunch will be included in the workshop fee. Contact: Joanne Rice

GREEN SANCTUARY
The Green Sanctuary Committee will be offering movies, forums and a Springtime Earth Day event. Watch for information in the Newsletter.Contact: James D'Aloisio - tel. 449-0648

LUNCH BUNCH
Gathering the 2nd Friday of each month at noon, the Lunch Bunch brings seniors together for fellowship and conversation. Participants bring their own bag lunches - beverages are provided. All are welcome and reservations are not needed.Contact: Jane Pickett 446-1920

PARENT GROUP
On January 12th a Parent Potluck was held at six o'clock to launch what hopefully will become a monthly gathering for parents and families. Contact: Tanya Gesek to express continuing interest

FORUMS
Forums are held on Sundays after the service. For this time period the Transition Team or the Search Committee that will be organized to help select a new minister will hold a series of such forums. Please read the Newsletter and Sunday Announcements for topics and dates. Rev. Priscilla Richter will hold a forum on February 3rd after services about the process of calling a Settled Minister to begin in 2009.

HEALTHY CONGREGATIONS
On January 18th at 6:00PM in the parlor, the DVD "Breaktrough Congregations" from the UUA General Assembly 2006 was shown. Discussion indicated interest in how ideas from those congregations could be applicable to our own. Contact: Betsy Spaulding if your group wishes to show all or part of the DVD to stimulate further discussion.

ART & SPIRITUALITY
A spirituality and art group will begin meeting in the Spring. Participants will explore spirituality issues through creative mediums. Read the Spring Newsletters for more information. Contact: Gracia Sears,

MOVEABLE FEASTS
Watch the Newsletter for information about this event. Some members will open their homes for small group dinner parties. It is a nice way to meet folks. Contact: Lee Murray Last feast was on Friday, January 25, 2008.

FOLK DANCERS* -- meet every Thursday from 8:;00-10:00 and include many non-members. Contact: Judy & Keith Hunt 487-8806 or Karen & Bill Havens 475-8515.

CUUPS - Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans, Inc. promotes networking among Pagan-identified UUs, and provides for the outreach of UUs to the broader Pagan community. They meet for Sabbats and the 4th Wednesday of each month. Contact: Jody Brown 476-0447

RECREATION GENERATION -- Each Monday, in conjunction with the Town of DeWitt, our building is open for arts and crafts classes and a hot meal. Registration is required for classes. To attend for the meal it must be ordered the Friday prior. For information contact Susan Ferris at the Town of DeWitt 446-9250 X127. *Financial contributions are made for the on going expenses at FUUSS.
